  1. Alleged kidnap/sexual assault
    Muller was 16 at the time.

    Muller served from 1995-1999.
  3. Harvard/Boston
    A Harvard-educated attorney, Muller allegedly planted hidden cameras in bathrooms, used peep holes, video neighbors through windows, entered apartments while women were in shower during his time at Harvard.
  4. Assault and attempt to commit rape
    Muller committed these crimes twice in the span of a few weeks, once in Mountain View, and another in CA Palo Alto, CA. He has since been charged.
  5. Peeping/prowling
    Dubbed "The Mare Island Creeper" by victims.
  6. Home invasion/kidnapping for randsom/rape
    Denise Huskins said she was abducted from her home in Vallejo, CA and held for ransom before being released her two days later. Police were skeptical.
  7. Vellejo PD press conference.
    The Vellejo Police Department treated Denise Huskins' kidnapping as a hoax. In a press conference, Lt. Kenny Parks from Vellejo PD said,"Mr. Quinn and Ms. Huskins have plundered valuable resources away from our community, and have taken focus away from the true victims of our community while instilling fear amongst our community members. So if anything, it's Mr. Quinn and Ms. Huskins that owe this community an apology."
  8. Kidnapping for ransom
    A previously unreported San Ramon-area kidnapping for ransom in 2015, this allegedly happened two weeks after Muller released Denise Huskins, but the district attorney's office said it was so traumatic the family never reported it.
  9. Home invasion robbery
    Muller was arrested following an attempted Dublin, CA home invasion robbery last month which it said had similarities to the Vallejo kidnapping.
  10. Muller sentenced to 40 years in federal prison
    Muller pleaded guilty to holding Denise Huskins for ransom. Police realized that Huskins was telling the truth about her March 2015 abduction only after Muller was implicated in a different crime.
  11. Sentenced to 31 years on Solano case
    Muller was sentenced in Solano County Superior Court after pleading no contest to two counts of forcible rape of Denise Huskins. He also pleaded guilty to robbery of an inhabited dwelling, residential burglary and false imprisonment. His state sentence will be served concurrently with the 40-year federal sentence.
  12. Aaron Quinn and Denise Huskins-Quinn, Lt. Misty Carausu and Chief Borges present case
    After a Netflix documentary, American Nightmare was released in 2024, City of Seaside Police Chief Nick Borges reached out offering support to Huskins and her husband, Aaron Quinn, hoping to restore their faith in law enforcement. There, they met El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson. Together they have pieced together a decades-long puzzle, solving cold case crimes linked to Muller dating back to 1993 when he allegedly committed his first kidnapping and rape at the age of 16.

  14. Re-investigation initiated
    By the El Dorado DA at the request of Aaron Quinn, Denise Huskins-Quinn, Lt. Misty Carausu and Chief Borges.
  15. Charges filed in Santa Clara.
    The Santa Clara County district attorney's office alleged that Muller broke into the homes of women in Mountain View and Palo Alto. Muller is suspected of medicating, and then sexually assaulting both women, prosecutors said.
  16. Charges filed in Contra Costa
